February Instructor Spotlight - Tom

I love being a group fitness instructor! I started taking Body Pump several years ago and was hooked. After a few years of being a participant, I decided to take the leap and pursue a certification. With the support of so many gym friends, I passed and have thoroughly enjoyed teaching since the summer of 2016. I also take Body Flow (which is being rebranded as Body Balance) and have enjoyed it enough to pursue a Body Balance certification. A special shout out to Lori Schneider for being a fantastic role model and a motivating instructor for every class she teaches.

Also, I appreciate the 5:30AM flow crew who often let me practice teaching and showed me nothing but love and support.

In my life outside of 212 Fitness, I work a full-time job at UW-Stevens Point in the Human Resources Office. I like being able to get a workout before work or sometimes after. I see many folks with busy lives, and it is always impressive to see such dedication to wellness and fitness. 212 has been able to offer me a place where I can improve my life-work balance. I enjoy taking and teaching Tai Chi. Traveling is so much fun. I have a long bucket list, which includes Ireland, New Zealand, and going back to Greece. I also like to play board games, card games, and video games. D&D is lots of fun and so can be putting together a puzzle. I like watching TV and movies too. I enjoy getting a massage from our very capable 212 Fitness massage therapists.

Wherever you are in your fitness journey, I want to wish you the best of luck. Keep at it and remember, progress is still progress, no matter how small it seems at the moment
