Group Fitness & Program Manager

Position Title: Group Fitness and Program Manager  

Schedule: Part Time, Flexible Hours (20 hours per week) 

Compensation: $17-$20.00/hour  

 

General Responsibilities:

To manage, develop, and oversee all the Group Exercise offerings. Continually strive to create a community vibe for our members of all ages and demographics. A big focus in this role is growing our Group Exercise programming and offerings to attract new members and instructors to 212 Fitness.  Develop the very best variety, consistency, education, and professional instruction for our members and non-members.   

 

Specific Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: 

  • Responsible for scheduling, monitoring attendance, adding and cancelling classes. 

  • Responsible for budgeting and tracking costs associated with providing such programming.  

  • Working with the Marketing Manager on communication and marketing regarding classes on a regular basis as needed. 

  • Responsible for working with off-site facilities with class scheduling, overseeing instructors, billing and other logistics. 

  • Responsible for overseeing the organization, cleanliness, and creating a welcoming environment in the Main Studio, Cycle Studio, Mind Body Studio, and overall care of these spaces. 

  • Responsible for the equipment upkeep, maintenance and ordering for all specified areas. 

  • Responsible for hiring, firing, mentoring and being available to scheduled meetings with all group exercise instructors, including instructor feedback forms and annual reviews.  

  • Responsible for reviewing payroll and submitting in a timely manner as requested by the financial department.  

  • Responsible for recruiting quality instructors to teach classes. 

  • Responsible for creating new classes for our schedule, a minimum of 1 new program/class per quarter to add to our schedule to keep things new and fresh. 

  • Responsible for stepping in to instruct last minute if possible to avoid canceling a class for our members.  

  • Strive for a min. avg. attendance of 12 participants per class.  Work closely with Assistant General Manager and General Manager to develop, grow, program and maintain the group fitness and pilates reformer offerings.  Additionally: This position may be asked to assist in other areas of 212. Cooperation is assumed. All staff members work as a team to provide superior service that 212 bases its reputation on.

  • Experienced and certified Group Exercise instructor in more than one style of classes.
