Position Overview
The Group Fitness & Program Manager leads the strategy, development, and day-to-day operation of 212 Fitness’s group exercise programs. This position focuses on delivering a diverse, engaging, and high-quality class experience while fostering a sense of community among members and instructors alike.
The ideal candidate is a dynamic leader, creative programmer, and experienced instructor who thrives on building teams, inspiring members, and continuously evolving the group fitness experience.
Key Responsibilities
Program Leadership: Oversee all group fitness programming — including scheduling, attendance tracking, and class development — to ensure a balanced, high-quality, and well-attended class lineup.
Instructor Engagement: Recruit, mentor, and support a team of motivated instructors who deliver consistent, professional, and inspiring classes. Provide feedback, facilitate continuing education, and conduct annual reviews.
Community Building: Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment that connects members through fitness and encourages consistent participation.
Innovation: Develop at least one new class or program each quarter to keep offerings fresh, relevant, and exciting based on the industry trends.
Quality & Standards: Maintain high standards for instruction, class setup, and member experience. Step in to teach when needed to avoid class cancellations.
Marketing & Communication: Collaborate with the Marketing Manager to promote classes, highlight instructors, and celebrate member success stories through social media and in-club communication.
Operations & Administration:
Manage studio spaces for cleanliness, organization, and functionality.
Oversee equipment upkeep, ordering, and inventory.
Monitor payroll, budgeting, and cost tracking related to programming.
Coordinate with off-site facilities as needed for scheduling and logistics.
Collaboration: Work closely with the Assistant GM and General Manager to align programming with club goals and member feedback.
Qualifications
Certified Group Fitness Instructor with experience teaching multiple class formats.
Proven leadership and team management skills.
Strong organizational, communication, and customer service abilities.
Budgeting and scheduling experience preferred.
Creative thinker with the ability to adapt to evolving trends and member needs.
Must embody an active, healthy lifestyle and a passion for helping others achieve their goals.
