Scott Plunkett-Riggs
ISSA-CPT, NSCA- CSCS
My journey into health and wellness started during my junior year of high school in 2016. At the time, I was a 4th-string football player, 6 feet tall and only 140 pounds. I didn’t like feeling small and weak, so I stepped away from football and started spending more time in the gym. That is where I learned that consistent effort could lead to real progress in strength, muscle, confidence, and overall well-being. That feeling of taking control of your health is empowering, and it is one of the biggest reasons I became a coach.
I was born and raised in Wausau and later moved to Stevens Point to pursue my Bachelor’s degree in Health Science and Wellness from UW-Stevens Point, graduating in spring 2025. I am currently pursuing my Master’s degree in Strength and Conditioning through UW-River Falls, where I continue to study strength training, physiology, biomechanics, and human performance. I am also an ISSA Certified Personal Trainer and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the NSCA.
My experience includes working with athletes and general population clients with goals such as strength building, muscle gain, weight loss, performance, rehab, and overall wellness. When working with me, you can expect a supportive, individualized approach that focuses on the deeper “why” behind your goals. Whether that means feeling better, moving pain-free, improving performance, keeping up with your kids or grandkids, or simply building more confidence, I want training to connect to what truly matters to you.
I believe workouts should be effective, sustainable, and enjoyable. My goal is not to leave you so sore you can barely walk, but to help you make real progress in a way that keeps you coming back and feeling excited to improve.
